Diane Macek

My name is Diane Macek and I am excited to be joining the MNW teaching staff as a fourth grade teacher this fall.
I am the proud mother of four wonderful children: a freshman in college, a tenth grader, an eighth grader and a sixth grader.  We enjoy spending time together whether we are walking our dog or just hanging out at home.  A fun fact is that I attended kindergarten in Barnum when it was a K-12 building and my teacher was Mrs. Ruebel.

I am a lifelong resident of Fort Dodge.  I attended schools in Fort Dodge for first grade through twelfth grade.  Then I attended Iowa Central Community College where I received my Associate of Arts degree.  Finally, I received a Bachelor of Arts degree, Reading Endorsement and my Early Childhood Endorsement through Buena Vista University.

I taught Title One reading classes for a little over two years. I resigned from that position to be a homemaker after the birth of my first child. Nine years later I was blessed with an opportunity to be a preschool teacher which I taught for four years.  Then I taught a combined class of 3rd and 4th graders for four years.
