Christine Sturgeon

Some of my favorites

Hi!  I'm Christine Sturgeon and am the district's Teacher Librarian/Technology Integrationist.  That means I work with students and teachers at both the elementary and secondary schools.  In other words, I have the best job in the district!

I graduated from Dike High School in 1988 and married my husband, Rob, in 1989.  We have five almost-all-grown children (our youngest is a senior at MNW).  I was a stay-at-home for many years and then graduated from the University of Northern Iowa with a Bachelor's degree in elementary education in 2009.  I graduated with a Master's degree in Library Science from the University of Missouri-Columbia in 2011, and that's when I started at MNW.  It took me 21 years to get my BA and 18 months to get my Master's.  Now I'm working on a doctorate from Drake in Educational Leadership.

My professional interests include makerspaces, video production, preschool storytimes, the right to read, and student voice.
