Hi.  I'm Jennifer Zhai , the behavior strategist/special education teacher for grades 7-12. I teach specially-designed instruction in reading, written language, and math, and co-teach in language arts and math classes.  I graduated from Mississippi State University in 1989 with a Bachelor of Science degree in physical education.  In 2015, I graduated  from Morningside College with a Master's degree as a Behavior Strategist 2 in Behavior/Learning Disorders K-12.  This is the start of my 23rd year of teaching students with behavior disorders.  Currently, I am finishing schoolwork to have certification to teach special education for K-12 students with intellectual disabilities.  I taught GED (all subjects) for 4 years at the Fort Dodge Correctional Facility.  I taught special education for eleven years in public school and eight years of teaching all subjects at Oakley Training School in Raymond, Mississippi to boys sent by court order.  I have a passion for working with students with challenging behaviors!

When I'm not teaching,   I enjoy spending time with my Chinese husband Robert and family.  I love to travel, fish, walk my Siberian Husky, bake, cook, and look for shells at New Smyrna Beach, Florida.  My favorite place to visit is Maui as my husband and I  got married there and it is the most beautiful place I have ever seen in my life.
