Hi. I'm Jennifer Zhai , the behavior strategist/special education teacher for grades 7-12. I teach specially designed instruction in reading, written language, and math and co-teach in language arts and math class. I graduated from Mississippi State University in 1989 with a Bachelor of Science degree in physical education. In 2015, I graduated from Morningside College with a Master's degree as a Behavior Strategist 2 in Behavior/Learning Disorders K-12. This is my 21st year of teaching students with behavior disorders. In the past, I taught GED all subjects, for 4 years at the Fort Dodge Correctional Facility. I taught nine years of special education in public school, and eight years of teaching all subjects at Oakley Training School in Raymond, Mississippi to boys sent by court order. I have a passion for working with students with challenging behaviors!
When I'm not teaching, I enjoy spending time with my Chinese husband Robert and family. I love to travel, fish, walk my Siberian Husky, bake, cook, and look for shells at New Smyrna Beach, Florida. My favorite place to visit is Maui because we got married there and it is the most beautiful place I have ever seen in my entire life.
