PBIS

 NCCS utilizes PBIS (Positive Behavior Intervention Supports) as our behavior management system.  PBIS is a proactive approach that we utilize to improve school safety and promote positive behavior. The focus of PBIS is prevention, not punishment.  NCCS teaches students positive behavior strategies, just as we would teach any other subject - like science or language arts. 

Each month our students work toward a goal and monthly celebration that is planned by our Student Voice Committee and our Behavior Intervention staff.  We also celebrate individual students on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis who have consistently exhibited our “Step-Up” expectations.
