PBIS

MNW uses PBIS (Positive Behavior Intervention Supports) as our behavior management system.

PBIS is explicit teaching of expectations and routines. When expectations are met or exceeded, acknowledgement is given. When expectations are not met, reteaching occurs. The primary PBIS expectations at MNW are Be Responsible, Be Respectful, and Be Safe.

Students are taught expectations for the following areas of the school.

  • Hallway

  • Bus

  • Lunchroom

  • Recess

  • Assemblies

  • Classroom

Celebrations

  • Each classroom sets behavior goals and when the goal is met they have a celebration

  • Each trimester is concluded with a schoolwide celebration

  • At the end of each trimester, students who are ODR-free receive a certificate and have their picture placed on the ODR Wall of Fame

  • When a student is ODR Free for the entire school year an additional reward is given
