Mike Richman

High School Instructional Coach/Special Education Instructor

I am currently the High School Instructional Coach and Civic Leadership teacher.

Education

I earned my Bachelor's Degree in Education from Valley City State University in Valley City, North Dakota with a major in Social Science Education and  a minor in Physical Education and Coaching.

I earned my certification in Special Education from Morningside College.

Background

I grew up in the Tower City/Buffalo area of North Dakota.  After college, I moved to Iowa and began teaching in the fall of 2001 at East Union School in Afton, Iowa.  While in Afton, I taught Special Education and World History, and was the Head Baseball Coach and the Athletic Director.

In the fall of 2003, I accepted a position with the Manson Northwest Webster (MNW) school district as a Special Education Teacher (2003-2016) and Head Baseball Coach (2003-2016).  In 2016, I began working as an Instructional Coach for the school district.  In this role, I have the opportunity to learn and work with staff on how to best support our students with different instructional methods and techniques. Most recently, I was an assistant varsity baseball coach at Fort Dodge Senior High School (2017-2021) and became the assistant softball coach here at MNW in the summer of 2022.

My wife Andrea and I live in Manson with our daughters Abby and Alyssa.  I bring high energy because I'm passionate about helping kids learn through both academics and extra-curricular activities.  Starting in the 2021-2022 school year, our girls are both in high school at MNW so I'm excited to see them through their high school journey.  Go Cougars!
